The relative importance of primary food choice factors among different consumer groups: A latent profile analysis

Food choices determine consumers’ dietary and energy intakes, in turn their risk of obesity diet-related diseases. Factors affecting food are complex, varied, inter-connected. The aims this study were to assess the relative importance four factors influencing (taste, price, healthiness, convenience) identify segments consumers according ratings. Australian (n = 1,558) aged 18 + years completed an online survey assessing a range choices, including perceived taste, convenience. Latent profile analysis was undertaken segments, with bivariate analyses then conducted describe differences between derived segments.
